Question:

Can I operate a motorized skateboard at age 14?

Answer:

Motorized skateboard use is covered by city laws. In general, city laws require motorized skateboard riders to be at least 14 years old, follow traffic signs and rules and wear a helmet while riding it. See a sample of motorized skateboard laws in the laws section of this website. To be sure, check with your local police department to find out about laws concerning motorized skateboards in your community.

yo all you want is the law lowwerd, right? well the cool thing is that in the mountains, there are like no laws. lots of on/off roads, and cops are so cool with it. see the problem lies in the suberbs. people get all hurt over nothing. just remeber, if they dont catch you, its not bad. and if you have a motor off say a chain saw like mine, than they can be very touchy about that. its not street legal. and slap some bupers on, headlight, and clearence and you good. so go somewere where they dont care. and some off road tracks are fun.

I definetly agree with your statment. I think it is totally inconceivable for the law to prohibit the Goped® from people under age 14.Some are more carful, and lawful with equipment like this. Most understand the dangers and cautions of the standard Goped®,I would have to say that this law is all bull. However the law cannot keep me from buying {with my own earned money} a Goped® and riding it as I please. Thank you for your time, Laura of AZ
