Question: Do you always go to jail if you lie in court as a witness?

Answer: It would be up to the Judge in court. Lying under oath is a very serious offense and the charges of Perjury or False Swearing can be punishable by fines up to $150,000, imprisonment, probation, or combinations of sentencing options. It is all up to the judge.
