Question: What is the law against 'burning' a music artists CD?
Answer: It is against U.S. and international copyright laws to copy an original work created by someone else without permission. The copyright laws apply to music CD's. The same copyright laws also make it illegal to copy movies -- as you know, if you have ever read those warnings that appear at the beginning (and end) of a rented videotape or DVD. Likewise, if you check the cover of any music CD that you purchase, you will see that it contains a notice under U.S. and international copyright laws warning against making copies without permission.

Burning CD is Wrong... The goverment shouldn't make it leagel. They made it, they should get the money from selling it. I don't have a lot of money either but I now if you make something a song, a game, a picture no one should have the right to steal it from you. That's what burning cd is stealing somone eleses money.

but really, how would they know if you burned a CD? It's more of an "honor" thing to me. Anyway, I could care less about it. I burn what I want, when I want, and no one's gonna stop me.

I think that it is wrong cause they went through all the sweat and time to bring you that CD. Lets at lest have the decense to give them what is rightfully theirs. Besides it is a sin to steal and if you do you are going against the Bible. I have burned CDs for others for a long time now cause i didn't know it was wrong but now that i know this i fell so bad that i have stolen money from the artists like that.
