Question:

Are motorized skateboards illegal or is anything being done to make them illegal?

Answer:

Motorized skateboard use is covered by city laws. For example, in Tempe, the law states that no child under the age of 14 can operated a motorized skateboard. (Section 19-23). Tempe City codes also state that no person other than the owner of the motorized skateboard is authorized to ride it and that no passengers are allowed on it. To be sure, check with your local police department to find out about laws concerning motorized skateboards in your community.

i agree with u. the cops always pull me over and say they will confiscate my baby (Goped®). i can go faster on a bike downhill and i just dont see why they care about my scooter just because it has an egine. I also called the dmv and they said it has to be licsenced and registerd so i asked how you do that and they said you cant.
