Question:

Are motorized skateboards illegal or is anything being done to make them illegal?



Answer:

Motorized skateboard use is covered by city laws. For example, in Tempe, the law states that no child under the age of 14 can operated a motorized skateboard. (Section 19-23). Tempe City codes also state that no person other than the owner of the motorized skateboard is authorized to ride it and that no passengers are allowed on it. To be sure, check with your local police department to find out about laws concerning motorized skateboards in your community.

I have one and i take it a round the city all the time the cop cars are cool but the cops on bikes arent cool so if you see one try to stay out of seeing distance i got pulled over no ticket i gave him a false last name.

i think you should have a driver lic to ride a Goped® or scooter because after all they are engine propelled and do reach fast speeds and the person or persons ridin them should be aware of the road laws and should follow them too there is a small lane call a bike lane if kids-people would stay in that lane and out of the middle of the road maybe the cops would leave you alone if people would respect others and ride at a desent time say noon to about say 6 pm then everyone would have no promlem with the hole Goped® scooter stuff use common sence and wear a helment and dont ride in the streets jw

I understand that some are probley to fast but I could go just as fast as any stock Goped® out there with a bike so they should let kids ride them but possibly with some laws like an age limit and a speed limit apropriate for the situation and a helmet unfortionatly the state took the esiest way out and now kids have to ride bikes every where which stinks becuase it makes you sweat and takes a long time (trust me I know)and who wants to go to the movies or somtin sweaty
