Question:

Are motorized skateboards illegal or is anything being done to make them illegal?

Answer:

Motorized skateboard use is covered by city laws. For example, in Tempe, the law states that no child under the age of 14 can operated a motorized skateboard. (Section 19-23). Tempe City codes also state that no person other than the owner of the motorized skateboard is authorized to ride it and that no passengers are allowed on it. To be sure, check with your local police department to find out about laws concerning motorized skateboards in your community.

Yeah, what up. I live in Long Island and I was pulled over by a cop once and he gave me a warning. Another time I was riding and I ran away and he finally caught me and took me into the station. I had to go and get it back but I didn't have to pay any money. I have a superbigfoot and it goes about 45mph. I got a pipe and everything, please tell me if they are illegal.

I want to know why Gopeds® are illegal. They are not considered a motorcycle and they are not that dangerous if you ride them safe and obey the stop signs and rules. So if you know, please e-mail me at [email protected]. Thank you.
