Question: What are the consequences for being found guilty of counterfeiting?

Answer: Counterfeiting is a federal felony. The prison term for adults is around 15 years. A child would go to juvenile court for counterfeiting. If found delinquent of a misdemeanor or a felony, the options for any delinquency would apply. These include detention, probation, fines, rehabilitation, etc.

Have you ever wondered why the things you buy are getting more expensive? Things like cars, houses, food, college tuition and medical fees cost more because the value of your dollars are decreasing. The reason is because, like counterfeiters, your government is printing more and more money every year. Counterfeit money in circulation represents a small percentage of the trillions already printed by our very own "Federal Reserve". The punishments for counterfeiting are exaggerated. Don't let the Secret Service trick you into believing their paper is any more valuable than yours.

COUNTERFEITING-CONSEQUENSCES. - FOR WHOEVER IS WONDERING, I WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD ME THIS A LONG TIME AGO. IF ITS COUNTERFEITING YOU ARE THINKING OF DOING...DON'T. I WAS CHARGED WITH COUNTERFEITING AT THE AGE OF 22. I WAS DOING AN ADVERTISING FLYER FOR A BUSINESS AND THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE IT LOOK LIKE MONEY SO THAT WHEN YOU SAW IT ON THE GROUND YOU WOULD PICK IT UP. CEPT I FORGOT TO PUT THE SAVE BEFORE THE 5 AND THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES. COUNTERFEITING WILL GET YOU TIME IN PRISON EVEN ON A FIRST OFFENSE. IT IS HANDLED BY THE SECRET SERVICE..

...AND THE SECRET SERVICE DO NOT PLAY GAMES..FRIENDS UNTIL THEY GET YOU TO ADMIT GUILT AND THEN YOUR DONE. ALSO COUNTERFEITING IS A FEDERAL FELONY. WHICH IS THE SAME AS A STATE FELONY HOWEVER ITS MAJOR DIFFERENCE LIES IN THE FACT THAT IT NEVER COMES OFF YOUR RECORD. NO 4 YEARS TO CLEAR. THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE IT TAKEN OFF IS A PRESIDENTIAL PARDON. NO SCHOOL LOANS NO GOOD JOB NO OPTIONS. AND IF YOUR CONVICTED OF A FEDERAL FELONY YOU SERVE TIME IN A FEDERAL PRISON. FEDERAL DOES 80% OF THEIR TIME. COUNTY(STATE PRISON) DOES ABOUT 20-40%. THAT MEANS YOU GET 10 YEARS FED YOU SERVE 8 MIN.
