Question: What are the requirements to become President?

Answer: The United States Constitution outlines the requirements for President in Article 2. This article of the U.S. Constitution also outlines the many powers of the President and Executive branch of government.

Section 1 of Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution states that a President must:

  • be a natural born citizen of the united States
  • be at least 35 years old
  • have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years

In addition, the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that a President may not serve more than 2 terms of 4 years each, even if they have only served as President for 2 or more years of one of those terms.

On the issue of the depreesion: We may not be in a depression like beofre but times are much different. Of course celeberties aren't worrying because the gov't hasn't stepped in a made restrictions, we also have plenty of gas. But what you must realize is that people are losing their jobs everyday. When the automotive industry is asking for help all the time then things aren't going too well, especially when Toyota isn't doing well. We may not be in a depression but we are on a spiral down unless something is done to fix what we are doing. Our congress has to drop the politics and help out.

We are not in a depression, Chad for GA. Most of us are not forced out of our homes. Yes, I will admit to a bit of a housing crisis. The 1920's was a lot worse than us now. The one in the '70s wasn't even better than now. And for those who don't know, in the 70's we were assigned to a certain day we could pump gas, and we couldn't pump on any other day. If the situation were the same all those celebrities with Hummers would be in trouble. So please do not say anything about any depressions before you get your facts straight.
