Question: Does my AZ driving permit allow me to drive (with a licensed driver) in other states?

Answer: Yes. A valid Arizona Drivers License would allow you to drive in any other state. Even though a permit allowing you to drive with an adult passenger is not a license, states recognize other states' permits as well since fundamentally it involves the same thing: your right to drive.

For more information on Arizona Driver's License law, see LawForKids.org Driving Laws section.

Or if you live in a state other than Arizona, you can check the specific driving laws in your state by contacting the Motor Vehicle department of your state government:

In Pennsylvania, your learners permit is ONLY valid in Pennsylvania. If you drive elsewhere, it is considered illegal.
