Question: I'm under 18 and like to race my 340sx. If street race, what are the consequences?

Answer: Regardless of if your 340sx is a motorcycle, a car or a truck, if you're caught racing on the public streets, or even if you are driving recklessly in a private area like a parking lot, you face criminal sanctions for both speeding and reckless driving, which comes with a fine and possible jail time. You could also lose you license.

Arizona Law defines 'Drag Racing' as: (a) The operation of two or more vehicles from a point side by side at accelerating speeds in a competitive attempt to outdistance each other; or (b) The operation of one or more vehicles over a common selected course and from the same point for the purpose of comparing the relative speeds or power of acceleration of the vehicle or vehicles within a certain distance or time limit.

'Racing' is defined as the use of one or more vehicles in an attempt to outgain or outdistance another vehicle or prevent another vehicle from passing.

Both are specifically against the law in Arizona (ARS §28-708), and if convicted twice in a 24-month period, there a mandatory jail sentence is required.

law enforcement Is sad, they should be focusing on more important thing,not making street-racing even more dangerous than it is. think about it when they brake up street races they send hundreds of young desperate racers speeding off in all directions, racers willing to do any thing to get away. Its in this time that there's probably the most danger in this time that police are chasing them out. law enforcement should just leave them alone

hi i race alot i wish there was a way to make it legal.i think closing down a road for just racing for like 10 min for every race would be cool.Have like one cop at the race make sure every thing is ok.and i think that would be a very good way to do it.Because i hate worring about getting cought it stinks last time was $500.00 ticket.that stunk.just tell me wat u guys think if u could thank u.

Wat they need to do is stop saying every death involving some body driving fast was caused by a street racer. Get the facts straight just cuz they were driving fast dose not mean they were racing. They should make it legal in industrial areas were ther aint lots of people. If they want us to stop raceing we could always go back to house partys yea drunk driving gun fights drugs, i think thats wat the cops want to happen cuz i sure dont want that 2 happen. i dont mind if the cops break it up cuz it just adds 2 the rush just send one cop in cuz i dont want an accident 2 happen.
