Question: Can a cop follow you out of his district/ city to stop you?

Answer: The answer is Yes. In Arizona, an officer can leave his district or city to initiate a stop. Peace Officers here are certified by the state of Arizona. Therefore, jurisdiction is technically state-wide. Though I work in and for the City of Mesa, I can actually enforce the law anywhere in the state. I just have to make sure the paperwork is filed in the proper Court with jurisdiction.

Thanks to Mesa Police Officer Sam Noriega for his help with this question!
