Question: How can I get a restraining order taken off?
Answer: Typically, one is served with a notice or summons before a restraining order is put into effect. That notice should list a time period in which you can object to the restraining order being instituted. If you object, then a hearing is scheduled in front of a judge to determine if there is a legitimate reason not to impliment the restraining order. If you do not object or do not appear at a scheduled hearing, then you are deemed to have waived the objection (the court assumes that you don't have any reasons why the restraining order shouldn't be3 put into place) and the restraining order is put in place.
Typically, the restraining order is valid for a specified period of time (it is not valid indefinitely). The order is valid until the specified period of time expires.
SO, to stop a restraining order, you must respond to the summons that you receive before the restraining order is put into place, or wait until the time period of the restrainng order runs out.

Hey! My step-mom put a restraining order on my now 19 year old boyfriend. It was for one year which is up in 3MONTHS! I wonder if they can get another one? That would stink! My real mom loves him and I do too!!!

Hey all im ashley and im 17 years old and i have been dating this guy who is about to be 21 at the end of april. both of my parents dont like him because of his age and are threating that if i dont stop seeing him that they are going to file for a restraining order on him. is it possible for a step parent to do that techinicaly they have no legal rights over you if they didnt adopt you correct? he and i dont want to stop seeing each other so i need some advice.

hi I recently had got a restraning order put on my boyfriend due to a physical fight between us and he poured urine on me i understand that it was wrong for him to do that but i have a child by him and what to continue my realtionship with him, can i have the order taken off so he can still be in his daughters life for the up coming hoildays? i dont want it to be a life time thing what will happen when we go t o court can we get some counseling

For you young ladies with cautious parents? I feel sorry, but just maybe their experience will afford you something they wish for you. As a minor, and not the requesting party, you don't have much say. If you/he violate it someone is going to jail. As for someone threatenong your home etc, shut 'em down. If i was threatened by a juvenile, he/she will be admonished by the courts to behave or else. Don't be afraid, do it.
