Question: Is desecration of a flag illegal in Arizona?
Answer: Yes. As addressed by Arizona Law (ARS 13-3703 A. 2), it is a class 2 misdemeanor to commit abuse of a venerated object, such as a flag, by intentionally casting contempt upon it, defacing, burning, trampling, etc., in a manner likely to provoke immediate physical retaliation.

Every American citizen has a duty to protect the right of everyone and anyone to express their views. Even illegal immigrants. Because while on free land, every person in the universe was granted the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As long as the flames dont burn me, Ill protect the god given right of anyone in this country to burn the flag if that is what makes them happy. Protest is the foundation of this country. Without it we would still be sending taxes to england.
And besides ALL of those valid points, the flag is just that. A flag. A symbol. Its not Ame

I am agianst all you people who say that flag burning is legal....I dont know where you are getting the idea that its just a piece of cloth. There is a reason that the flag is flown outside every government building, school children pledge their allegiance to the flag, and the service men and women salute and honor it; because it IS the symbol of the United States. So if the flag is the symbol of the United States, and you burn the flag and claim the first ammendment provides protection, arent you a hypocrit? You burn the very item which represents the country which granted you that freedom. S

Hey Samantha! The people didn't die for the "piece of cloth." They died for what the flag stood for.the flag is the SYMBOL that stands for our rights. I feel that if you burn a flag, you burn all your rights along with it. So if you say the flag is just a piece of cloth and you can burn it, why don't you burn the Constitution or Bill of Rights? I mean, it's just paper. Thank you for taking this into consideration
