Question: Can minors get pulled over solely for having super tinted windows? What is the legal limit for tinted windows?

Answer:

In Arizona, anyone can get pulled over for violating the law concerning the tinting of windows. Arizona Law (A.R.S. § 28-959.01) says that any material on the window that lets through less than 33% of the light entering it is illegal.

I see the point of protection for officers. However, I use the dark tint for protection as many celebrities do. I also feel that dark tint greatly enhances the appearance of a vehicle. My eyes are very sensative and in the mornings I can barely see due to the sun rising. The dark tint greatly helps my visibility. I have 5% on my front windows and 20% on my back window. This is a useful tool for confusing cops and not having them bother you all the time. try it! NOTE: After window tint has been on a vehicle for an extended period of time it fades. It should be legal as dark as you want!

I was pulled over in a police stop check and my windows are tinted allowing 40% light versus the legal 70% come to find out. I bought the car from a reputable dealer with this tint and one of the reasons I bought it as it adds to the ambiance of the car. Now I wouldn't want the car if I have to take the tint off and as I asked the officer how it is that a dealer can be allowed sell an illeagal tinted car, in a legal transaction, having had to pass a N.Y. State inspection to be registered. I feel like I'm the victim, victim, victim of this legal system.
