Question: A dog you own turns on you and bites you. You kill the dog; is that cruelty to animals?

Answer: That depends on how you kill the dog. If you are acting in self defense while the dog is attacking you, then it is not cruelty to animals. However, the facts regarding how the dog was killed will need to be examined. Was the dog shot with a gun? Was the dog beaten to death? Those facts will determine whether or not your act went "over the line" of self defense and turned into cruelty. It will also be important to determine what injuries the dog caused you when it bit you.

basically you look at how nature works to answer this question. if one animal is attacking another it uses everythings in its power as defence. if it calls for one animal to die, then thats just the coarse of nature, or in other words the "only the fittest survive". however, for some reason when it comes to humans the answer is different. well it shouldn't be, we are put on this earth to dominate such as dinosaurs were many years ago. there for if you are being attacked it is ok to defend yourself till you are safe. whatever that calls for.

I dont eat dogs at all, neither does my familly or anyone I know off, but theres this dog that allways barks to people, because their owners are negligent and ignorant, not only that but they actually let him loose, and when my grandma was walking by the street this dog camed and bited her seriously bad in the leg, with no reason at all,she was just walking home,in that parts theres lots of apartments,so its not a street dog, and when we where asking who was the owner of the dog "suposibly no one Knew"

kayleigh: you are assuming that the person asking the question eats animals every day. however, that is not a fact that you know. let's say that person is a vegetarian, or lets go as far as to say they are vegan. then your argument has no justification. also, humans are capable of higher cognitive functions and and intellectually superior to all other species on the planet, including dogs. so honestly, if a person's life is in danger(in the case of a large dog attacking someone, possibly a child) it would be in everyone's best interest for the dog to be killed as opposed to the person

It's not that that person hated their dog cause if they did they probably wouldn't still have thd dog! Also, we eat animals everyday because we are trying to survive. Although I adnit most people eat a lot more then they need to. As for killing the dog the answer to the question before said it! Depends. If the dog keeps onbiting you and is beginning to literally take you a part, you should do something! And if the dog just bit you once and stopped, there should be no reason to kill it! Maybe it got scared, isn't spayed/neutered, ot maybe you just did something it didn't like. Think about it!:)
