Question: A dog you own turns on you and bites you. You kill the dog; is that cruelty to animals?

Answer: That depends on how you kill the dog. If you are acting in self defense while the dog is attacking you, then it is not cruelty to animals. However, the facts regarding how the dog was killed will need to be examined. Was the dog shot with a gun? Was the dog beaten to death? Those facts will determine whether or not your act went "over the line" of self defense and turned into cruelty. It will also be important to determine what injuries the dog caused you when it bit you.

the dog bite you, and you kill it? thats the most immoral thing possible. if you bit another person, would you be killed? in fact, you bite other animals every day! you eat animals every day...what gives you the right to eat them? they are only trying to survive. why is it that humans think they are better than other animals? and that they themselves are not animals? think of why the dog bit you, was it in self defense? where you smacking it? were you tormenting it? the dog has a right to live and defend itself, and a little bite cant kill you unless the creature has some form of disease. grr
