Question: Can a parent block someone from getting a drivers license?
Answer: For a minor to apply for a driver’s license or instructional permit in Arizona,
the application must be signed by at least one adult. The signers can include: one natural parent if married to the other natural parent; or both natural parents if not married to each other, but share joint custody; or, one natural parent with sole custody. The person who signed the application for a minor, as well as the person with responsibility for the minor, may cancel the minor’s license.

Margalo is wrong if she thinks that parents don’t own their kids until age 18.If your parents support you, and as she said herself, are responsible for you and your actions, then they have every right to tell you what you can and cannot do.Driving is a “privilege” and not a “right.” It is something that you need to earn.You are also wrong that a parent can’t physically make you do something..Read the law on incorrigible acts and you will find out what your responsibilities are as a child

I don't think that your parents own you when you're under 18. They are responsible for you and your actions, but they don't own you. They cannot force you to do anything. They can take some of your privileges away, but that's about it. The only way parents can force you to do anything is if they physically make you. Then that's illegal (child abuse). Most parents train their kids to fear them. That way the children will do what they're told, or else. In reality, there is no 'or else' you don't HAVE to do anything. You are not property and cannot be owned. It should really be about respect.

Your parents still own you...they are your legal guardian until you are 18 (legal adult). In short, they are liable for your mistakes.
