Question: My parents are divorced with joint custody but I really don't want to spend very much time with my father. How are custody issues decided?

Answer: In divorce cases the judge makes custody decisions based on what he or she considers to be best for the children. Changes in custody agreements are made only after the parents have formally requested a change and demonstrated that the change is best for the child. (A.R.S. § 25-403).

I am 14 and have lived with my mom for 11 years and now i want to live with my dad. we are telling her this week and i don't knwo how she will react. some reasons why i want to move are 1.cause my step mom just had a baby and i want to be in his life. I could move at 12. It's not like i just woke up one morning and decided i wanted to move. i've been thinking about it for three years. i've told my mom three times before and each time it blew up in my face. is the any reassurance that everything will work out?

hello, my father cheated on my mom. so now my mom hates my dad and my dad hates my mom. I am having a concert and i invited both of my parents. They want to kill eachother. both of my parents got remarried. so both of them are going to have there husband and wife. I want to live with my dad but my mom won't let me. My moms new husband (my step-dad) is allowed to do anything to me and my mom doesn't care. I hate it being that way. My new step-mom doesn't do anything to me eccept for be there. That is what i like. What should i do. What are my rights.

I really don't know how I feel. I mean i have mixed emotions.when ever i talk to my parents about custody stuff they make the other parent seem like the "bad guy".and one bad thing about joint custody is my school and friends. my school is closer to my moms house.so are my friends. theres no way my dad can take me to school on time everyday.and i cant ride a bus from his house either.so i really dont know about joint custody...
