Question: My parents are divorced with joint custody but I really don't want to spend very much time with my father. How are custody issues decided?

Answer: In divorce cases the judge makes custody decisions based on what he or she considers to be best for the children. Changes in custody agreements are made only after the parents have formally requested a change and demonstrated that the change is best for the child. (A.R.S. § 25-403).

i live in England, i really want to know the laws on the rights of children when deciding where to live. My parents got divorced when i was 9, i've been living with my mum and brother since then, but my dad is more than capable of looking after me and my brother. i love being at his house which is only five minutes away from where i live now, my mother would be distraught if i left, but i hate it here. how old do you have to be to legally move without the parent's consent? also, i wouldn't leave my brother, who is 12, and i know he wouldn't be allowed to go. Help.

My mom and dad divorced when I was 7. My dad had/still has a drinking problem. The problem (for me) is I want to live with my dad. But my mom says that I can't move to Texas with my dad because he might kill me in an accident.  I should be able to do what I want. After all, I should be happy, shouldn't I? I just wish I could say this to my mom face-to-face.
