Question: Can I rent my own apartment without the permission of my parents?

Answer: Since renting an apartment requires you to enter into a contract, you should look for similar Q & A's in the Speak Up Answer area regarding Minors and Contracts.

You need to contact the Attorney General's Office in Arizona or your state to find out if you would be legally able to sign a lease or rental agreement without the permission of your parents.

Ya know I dont think there are really any stupid questions to ask, sometimes its stupid not to ask. Whats the matter with asking questions especially over the net where u can get a broad line of perspectives on things???I just wanted to say that parents do have more time on there shoulders then lets say a 16 year old so u can always look at there background because they have either probably seen it, thought about it, or done it themselves, just a thought though.........

It has gotten to the point where I can't stand living with my grandmother. I hate it. All we do is argue. She never talks to me like a parent. She swears I'm always lying 2 her. It's not like i'm scared of her so what the hell am I going to lie to her for. I can't live in a house with someone who doesn't trust me who also doesn't have a reason not 2 trust me. I don't drink, I don't smoke, and i'm not having sex with everyone and they momma. I wanna know is it possible for me 2 get an apartment in the Bronx that is nice but really cheap. I will be 16 in June. I would be happy with a one bedroom

I would like to comment on that statement first by saying that it has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How can you possibly say that a parent knows how to deal with a contract better than a teenager does when there are grown adults with 8th grade educations? Think about it before you begin to talk from a lack of common sense and simple knowledge.
