Question: Is it legal to get married under 18 if pregnancy occurs?

Answer:

In Arizona it is legal for people under 18 years of age to marry if they have the consent of their parent or guardian. The permission of one parent is enough, but it must be the one with legal custody of the minor to be married if the parents are living apart.

In Arizona people under 16 years of age may not marry unless they have the consent of their parents and of a superior court judge. Pregnancy is not enough to allow or to force a marriage, but it can be a factor in the decision of the parent or the court to grant permission.

Alright this is the thing about the law you can move out when your 17, your mom can't do anything. Trust me I moved out with my boyfriend when I was 17 and if there was something that my father could do to make me come home he would have. The law says that you are an adult when you are 17, but your parents have to pay all your doctor bills and things like that until you are 18. And you can't get married unless your mom signs if your under 18 unless your pregant. Anyways to give you the happy ending my boyfriend and I got married when we both turned 18. So yea you can move. Good Luck!!!

I am 17 and my boyfriend is in the army right now. We want to get married as soon as he returns but here in Kentucky you have to be 18 or older to get married. My mom and dad think it would be nice if I would get married but here its all up to the state. I just love him so much and I want to be with him for the rest of my life but its up to the goverment. I think if it was ok with your parents that the government should have them sign some sort of form and then you can do your thing and get married. BUT NO ITS ALL UP TO THE GOVERNMENT. WE NEED TO START A PETITION!!!!!!
