Question: Is it legal to get married under 18 if pregnancy occurs?

Answer:

In Arizona it is legal for people under 18 years of age to marry if they have the consent of their parent or guardian. The permission of one parent is enough, but it must be the one with legal custody of the minor to be married if the parents are living apart.

In Arizona people under 16 years of age may not marry unless they have the consent of their parents and of a superior court judge. Pregnancy is not enough to allow or to force a marriage, but it can be a factor in the decision of the parent or the court to grant permission.

My husband and I married when I was 16 and he was 19. We have been married for almost 23 years. We are more in love now than on Day #1. BUT there are HUGE divorce rates in this country! Marrying young doesn't always work out great. My husband and I have gone through some very, very rough roads. You have to be willing to stick it out, grit your teeth and hang together even when you don't feel like it. Divorce should not be an "easy out" for every "spat" a couple has. But if you're committed, if you're BEST FRIENDS first and lovers second, then I marriage is GREAT at any age. I don't thin

I have been with my husband for 4 1/2 years now. We met when I was 15 And he was 19 we got married this past February. We built us a house and have nice things. We are more in love than we have ever been in. I think if you love someone that much in your heart then you are "ment to be" I agree with young marriage. However; I also think you should date at least two years before you ever think about comitting to someone. Because even then you really do not know that person until you live with them.
