Question: If someone in my family gets married and we don't like them can we have them keep their last legal last name? without getting our last name?
Answer: No. A person may use any name they want unless they intend to commit some type of fraud by doing so. In this case the newly married person (I assume it is a woman) is entitled to use her husband's name. She doesn't have to, however, and could keep her former name. You, and the rest of your family have no say in the matter.
