Question: At what age can you choose which parents you want to live with either?

Answer: Your adopted parents are your legal parents and have the right to make decisions on your behalf until you are 18, including where you live. This must be a difficult situation for you and the adults involved if you are now having contact with your biological parents. Depending on the circumstances of your biological parents and your age, sometimes visitation arrangements can be worked out if all parties are willing. You may want to speak to your school counselor, you may need an adult to help you work through this.

I want to know what age I need to be to live with my mom. They arew divorced and I want to live with with my mom, but he won't let me. He gets along with my 7-year-old brother, but not me and my 12-year-old sister. My sister and I really want to know what age we have to be until we get to start choosing where we want to live. My mom lives down in California, so we travel and spend alot of money each year.
