Question: Is it possible to get married without parents' consent?

Answer: In Arizona, anyone under the age of 18 needs to have the consent of the parent or guardian that has custody over them in order to get married. See A.R.S. § 25-102. Anyone under the age of 16 also needs the approval of any superior court judge. Although no blood tests or waiting periods are required for marriage, there must be a license and a ceremony. A marriage license must be obtained from the Clerk of the Superior Court.

Hi, I am 17 years old and I have been dating my boyfriend, who is 18, for over 2 years. My mother loves him and his mother loves me, but we have been having some problems with my mother and I know that she would never consent to us getting married right now. We have wanted to get married for awhile now, but we are not sure how to do so because of my age and the whole consent problem. I have little less than a year until i turn 18, but we can't wait that long. If anyone knows of a way to get married without a parent's consent, please contact me. Thank you so much!
