Question: Could anyone loose their house/apt. for housing a criminal?

Answer: If you are hiding or attempting to hide someone wanted by the police - like someone with an outstanding warrant - you could also be charged with a criminal offense of aiding a fugitive.

As far as your housing, it would depend on the housing contract or lease agreement. If you own the home, you are not likely to loose it, unless your home is being used for criminal activity and the police request forfeiture. If you rent your home, you need to read the lease agreement carefully, as there may be a provision that lets the landlord evict you if you are involved in criminal activity or anyone living in your home is involved in any criminal activity. And in some cases, the criminal activity does not even have to have happened at your home. Some public houseing contracts (i.e. Section 8 housing) provide that if anyone who is to reside in the home has been convicted of a drug offense then the entire family can be evicted. And the drug offense can have occurred anywhere, not just drug offenses that occur at the home. This applies to juvenile drug offenses as well. So if a juvenile living in the home - which is a public housing rental - is convicted of a drug offense, the entire family loses its housing.
