Question: Can my parents Force me to go to Church ? I am Atheist.

Answer: It all depends on your age or capacity. If you are a child or have been found to be incompetent, then yes, the parents of a minor child or guardian of an incompetent person can force the child or incompetent person to go to church (or anywhere else within reason).

For practical purposes, the Constitution (First Amendment), protects your right to BELIEVE anything you want to BELIEVE, regardless of every other factor. So, even if forced to attend a ceremony you don't believe in, your freedom of belief is protected.

Yes your parents can make you go because they have control over you to tell you what to do if you live in there house.

Forcing someone to do something will just make them not want to do it. I believe in God, and, the only way you will is if you have an experience with Him. Forcing someone to go to church will just make him it.

Go to your local library (get a library card if you don't have one already). Check out books by Elaine Pagels and Bart D. Ehrman. Tell them that the Bible is a pile of Roman heresies (you should be able to convince them with the stuff you'll learn in the books).

"Steve", what r u talking about if your under 18? Is 18 some magic number that decides where you stand mentally? People know what they believe and dont believe and whether your 18 or not your beliefs still matter. If you would have said "When you get older" that would have been one thing but by saying "18" you make it so thats the number that decides if you know what you think yet.
