Question: My mother is not willing to take responsibility for me and I do not have a father so I have been living with my grandmother and her husband for almost 2 years. None of my family really wants me to be a part of their family, and I wanted to get emancipated. But Arizona does not allow this to happen. Are there any other alternatives that could help me to separate myself from my family and start my own life?

Answer:  There are not really many options. The goal of the state and child protective services is to preserve the family. Your grandparents are caring for you and unless your family and you agree on a different person to provide your care you will need to stay with them until you are 18.

I think there should always be another option. The law wants to keep the family together but from what she is saying her mom or any of her family members don't want her to be a part of it, they are forceing it and it is only hurting her.
