Question: I am 18 and still enrolled in high school, can my parents legally kick me out of the house?

Answer: Yes. Once you have turned 18 years old, you are legally an adult and your parents no longer have a legal obligation to care for you.

The converse is true as well: once you are 18, you have the legal ability to make decisions for yourself.

The only exception to this is if you were legally incapacitated in some way. For example, if you were judged by a court to be incapable of making decisions for yourself. In that (somewhat rare case) your parents could be appointed as guardians for you after the age of 18 and would still have to provide for you.

I'm a straight A student that is never in trouble of any kind. Yet I get screamed at everyday because i am not "good enough". Will I get kicked out asap? Yes, i will... and since my mother spent my college savings on herself I no longer have a future ahead of me. Thank you responsible parents.

I think that you should'nt leave the house if you dont even know how to spell, and it will be so hard for you.

You have to make life miserable for them too. Do not allow them to bring friends over unless they start behaving. Just kick them out if they are too disruptive.

What a scary world we live in, indeed. You parents need to stop kicking out your children and start caring for them. Even if they don't listen.

Well if your children do not want to behaive and yet are still too young to move out, you either need to put some real restrictions on them or turn them into the cops if you cannot control them. There are places to go for troublesome children and if you are afraid of your 10 year old of catching onto this terrible act you need to stop it now!
