Question: What is emancipation?
Answer: Emancipation means that you are legally free from your parents or legal guardian. Once emancipated you have many of the same rights and obligations as an adult.

My brothers girlfriend is pregnant she will be 17 in december Her mother lives in indiana if she left home now and left the state could her mom make her go back to I.N. or could she stay and if her mom could make her is there anything she can do since her mom wont emancipate her?? please respond asap thanx

emancipation is basically when you can take your parents or legal guardian to court and divorce them. i dont believe that you have to be 18. especially if you are able to prove that you are capable of taking care and supporting yourself. there are certain guidelines but i am not exactly sure of what they are.
