Question: My parents do drugs and how do I get away from it?

Answer: Depending on the state, for a child whose parents are not willing or able to care for him or her, a dependency petition may be filed. Some states also allow for a child to request emancipation (Arizona does not allow this). In Arizona, a private person or government agency can petition for dependency. Contact your state's Child Protective Services agency to obtain more help.

Im sorry you have to go though all this by yourself but the worst this is to not turn your parents in. All abuses can be passed down. Do something to help yourself so that when you get older you dont follow your parents footsteps. God bless you

Alot of people have been saying that you should report your parents the law. That is the worst thing to do, My dad does drugs and I would never report him. That tears up families. Maybe I'm just saying that because I do have a stable home except for that problem. He's not abusive to me physically, but mentally when he comes home. I hate what he is doing but I could never report him to the police. I understand what you are coming from but the way that I deal with it is that I find my inner peace and you will get threw. They will learn sooner or later.

You could always go to a school counselor. I know you may not want to tell someone that is in your school but they will try to help and can't tell ANYone else about your problems. There are also some hotlines you could call to seek some more professional advice. I am in a Natural Helpers program at my school and we are trained to listen to people who need help, maybe you have a club like that in your school. Never hurts to check. Best wishes and good luck, Nicole
