Question: If the parent allows sexual contact with someone 16 and older what is the law on that?

Answer: Sexual contact is illegal if either one or the other partner is younger than 18. It is still illegal, even if the parents allow it. The only exception is if the two youths are legally married to each other.

Why should they change the age to 16? What makes a 16 year old more special than say a 15 year old? No matter what age they choose someone is going to complain. Why should 2-3 years be any better that 5-6? 18 years old is lot different than 15 years old, just as much as 15 years old is different than 21 years old. Think about it a little more.

I don't think that age should really matter in some cases. Like for example if i was 16 and i was dating an 18yr old guy and we've been going for a while i think that i should be my choice on if i want to sleep with him or not, i mean it is my body. I think that there should at least be a law that if you are 16 yrs of age and older and you are sleeping with a person that is at least 2-3 years of your age it should be ok in some cases. Like society is really listening. there are so much people that are dating people like 5-6 years older than them.
