Question: Does a minor have the right, when pregnant, to keep the baby against parental consent?

Answer: In Arizona, the parents of a pregnant minor cannot legally force their child to have an abortion. If the minor chooses to give birth and not place the baby with adoptive parents, the minor's parents are NOT legally obligated to support the baby. If the minor and the baby's father and any other willing relatives cannot or will not support or care for the baby, the government may step in. This could result in the baby becoming Dependent. Some Dependent children live with birth parents or other relatives but are subject to government monitoring. Other Dependent babies are placed in foster care.

I'm 17, my boyfriend is 18. I just found out I might be, and when I told my mom (who thought I was still a virgin), she freaked. I'm totally on house arrest until I turn 18, she won't let me see or talk to him. If I end up being pregnant, I'm keeping it, and making sure the father is still in its life. He wants to be. We want to be together. We won't get married or anything because of the baby, but we'll stay together until we decide otherwise. The pregnancy test came back "inconclusive" so they're testing my blood. Wish me luck though =) I sure hope this works out. I'm terrified, but excited.

i am 23 and a mom of two wonderful babies and i would not change it for the world. i think if you are 14-18 you should practice being safe but at the same time if you happen to get pregnant then as long as you and the father are willing to support it then thats how it should be. i dont think mothers should threaten or try to force abortion a baby is alive from the moment it is conceived and who is ANY ONE to take that babies life? would they be here today if some one was forced to take there life? no! a baby is ALIVE and has feelings from day one its a life and no one should be able totakeit

I am a 14 yr old father. The mother of my child is living in a fantsy world that everything will be perfect. Her mother thinks that she planned this pregnancy. Her mother is wanting to adobt the baby so that we can finish school. I don't want to run from my mistake. But I know that at 14 yrs old It will be hard to raise a baby. we are both 14. What are some suggestions? What is the correct thing to do?

How does everyone feel about minors that become pregnant being charged with some form of neglect? And or the parents of the minor being accountable? (excluding cases of rape)
