Question: Is it legal to drink in your own home if your parents condone it?
Answer: It is not legal for your parents to give it to you. As with most things, if you behave sensibly, no one will know. Many people think that no child should ever be given liquor. Many people think that children should be taught to drink at home. The law hesitates to invade a home and to tell people how to raise their children. However, when things go to beans, there can be all sorts of trouble from things which would not ordinarily give trouble. For example, a father gives a sip of beer to his children occasionally. The mother files for divorce, and tells the court and the local child protective authority about this in order to get custody of the children or to 'get even' with the Father.

Teenagers should be able to drink when and wereever they want were almost adults as long as we dont get stupid it shouldnt matter if your 21 or not. I think the legal drinking age should be lowered to the age of 18.

i have 16 y/o daughter whose father would allow her to drink on weekends at his house w/o my knowledge, she was depressed and was cutting. I made dad aware of issues and had him sign home rules contract...yet he continued w/o my knowledge. My daughter only learned how to self medicate and led to more risky behvrs...including otc med abuse. everything I did was counteracted and I had to send her back East to stay with aunt. I think as a parent you should teach your kids that there are other ways 2 have fun and deal w/ issues...I mean they do have to survive the next 50 plus years in the world
