Question: If a juvenile gets adjudicated for vandalizing a school and they go to jail for it can they go to jail for doing it again?

Answer: Yes. In fact, it is more likely that a juvenile will be sentenced to jail for a second offense than a first offense. The judge will look at the juvenile's record and see the prior adjudication for vandalizing a school. The fact that the juvenile has done the same thing again means he will be considered a 'repeat offender.' In most cases, the judge will impose a harsher sentence for someone who commits the same crime again because the juvenile did not learn his lesson the first time.

there is double jepordy, however, a person can be convicted of the same crime if this person does it in a different time. I mean if you killed some one on Dec. 11, 1999 and you are sent to prison, and you get out on 2004 for whatever reason and you go and kill again you can be found guilty again since you killed a different person and you are committing the crime in a later year. moreover is not the same crime that you are committing.

i thought there was something called double jepordy where you may not be convicted of the same crime twice. has anyone ever heard of it or was this just in a movie?

First of all I dount think that you should go to jail for something like that, because it could be fixed by giving the juvenile community service. But if itg happens a second time, then maybe think about some jail time.
