Question: Lets say I did something really bad outside of school, can the school punish me for it?
Answer: Generally the things that you do outside of school will be handled by the juvenile authority in your area. The school would not normally be involved if you were being tried and/or punished in by a juvenile court.
However, schools sometimes do get involved if you represent a safety issue for the students in your school. For example, if you have been caught fighting or being a member of a gang outside of school, the school might say that you now are a threat to other students and that they need to take action to protect the other students. Schools are responsible for overseeing the safety of their students, so they will get involved whenever they see a potential issue of harm to those students.

acually if you do something right after school and go home first you can not get in to trouble from you school. but if you dont go home first and get into a fight or sometyhing you are allowed to be punished by the school.

Don't I know you? the same thing happened in my junior high. A teacher's car was keyed and someone was pulled out of my class for it. i thought there was a law stating the difference between reasonable suspicion and a hunch, gut feeling, or someone's "word for it."

I only think that schools should be allowed to get involved/ punish one of their students for something they did outside school (and and outside school times) when that particular student becomes a threat to the well being of the students and teachers of the school (for example, of the student is a mamber of a gang, or was in a serious fight or the like), otherwise the school should not be able to punish the student. For example, if a student stole one chocolate bar from a store, his/ her school should not be able to punish the student in any way.

Yes they can do something. If you're at a party with any illegal substances and are caught, and you're on a sports team, depending on if you signed a contract or not, determines what can happen. Where I live, if something like that happens, you can be kicked off the team, even if you didn't do anything or pass a drug test. If you're there and it's broken up, the school can get involved.
