Question: Is it constitutional for a PUBLIC school to enforce a school uniform such as Khaki pants and white shirts?

Answer: Yes. The Arizona Court of Appeals has ruled that a public school's mandatory student uniform requirement did not violate students' freedom of speech or any other civil liberty. Federal courts in other states have also upheld student uniform policies.

I dont really understand all this controversy over uniforms. Shouldn't it be about whats in a persons head, not whats covering their body? Why is it really such a big deal? If your school inforces uniforms, then wear it. If not, to his his own concerning you attire. It is possible to be an individual outside of what you wear you know. If you say it is impossible for you to express yourself in a uniform, aren't you really saying that you are EXACTLY the same as everybody else, outside of what you wear? As for the thing about the Khaki pants and white shirts, that's a major fashion don't color w

This is the problem we all must face. I am 17 and was the target of a gang related incident at school because I wore clothing that apparently was the mark of a rival gang. Though I had no affiliation with that gang, I was not spared and it is incidents like this one that make us question whether uniforms are needed. The two shooters at Columbine would always wear specific clothes to seperate them from others.
