Question: Is it true that Arizona is the only state where possession of tobacco or tobacco products by minors is illegal?

Answer: As of February 28, 1997, Federal law does not allow retailers to sell cigarettes, tobacco, or smokeless tobacco to anyone under the age of 18. This law applies to all states. Laws regarding the possession of tobacco are left up to the individual states. Even though we have not been able to research all of the state laws, we do know that Arizona is not alone in the law prohibiting minors from possessing tobacco products.

In California, The legal to buy is 18. It does not matter what the age is. If they raised it to 21,people will still smoke. In France there is no legal age limit, and teens dont smoke as much.
