Question: How much is the fine for a 16 year old in possession of tobacco (not on school grounds)?

Answer: Arizona Law (ARS 8-341) states that the maximum fine for an incorrigible act (aside from reparations if there are damages associated with the incorrigible act) is $150. A judge can consider community service in addition to, or as an alternative to a fine for an incorrigible act.

Lauren, although your point is valid, I still hate to hear people say it. Are YOU in the military??? I am. People say "Well, I'm old enough to join the military but not old enough to drink?" but then they are repulsed by the idea of joining the military. It's kind of hypocritical. On many military bases, service members CAN drink at 18 because we ARE in the military.

I think underage smokers should be punished more severely than a fine. Why would parents allow their children to smoke and die prematurely? Such horrible parents...
