Question: How many years could you get if have a meth. Lab in your house?

Answer: Arizona law (ARS §13-3401) defines methamphetamine as a 'dangerous drug'. Also, if you knowingly possess, use, administer, acquire, sell, manufacture, possess equipment or chemicals for the purpose of manufacturing, or transport a dangerous drug it is classified as a class 2 or class 3 (possessing equipment or chemicals for the purpose of manufacturing) felony (ARS §13-3407) .

The penalty for a class 2 felony is 5 years in prison. The penalty for a class 3 felony is three and one half years.

In addition to prison time, you may be ordered to pay a fine of not less than one thousand dollars or three times the value, as determined by the court, of the dangerous drugs involved in or giving rise to the charge, whichever is greater.

My boyfriend was cought with 1 pound of methamphetamines and the judge gave him the maxium sentence of 30 years and a large fine of 200,000 dollars. Since hes a youth full offender which hes 17 years old and he has never been arrested or had any prior charges. How can they make him sit in prison for 30 he is never going to learn anything about the right way to live life and what you can and cant do if hes life is half way over before he gets out.It breaks my heart to know that he has to sit in there for that long.
