Question: I was at a party that got raided by the cops "party patrol" and had a bac of .023 and that was my first Mip ever. I have a clean record and have not gotten in trouble since. Do I have any choices like community service, or AA meetings that I could attend so I do not get my license revoked?

Answer: If you have not been in trouble before, and you weren't driving, there is a very good chance that you will be given the opportunity to take an alcohol education class and maybe some community service. Generally, if you successfully complete the class and community service, they will dismiss the charges against you. In some courts, you take the class without even having to do community service.

However, just know that having your driver's license revocated is ALWAYS a possibility when a juvenile finds him or herself in trouble. The judge can impose that sentence for almost any reason, but they typically don't for a first time offense that didn't involving you behind the wheel of a car.

Hey Casey don't worry I just got one too. I did not blow anything on the breath test and have a court date in 1 week. First time offenders get the YODA program which you pay like 150 bucks, do 10 hours community service, and its off your record in 6 months if you don't get another one in that time. Anyways I am going for the NOT Guilty, cause its within my rights. I'll drag it on appeal after appeal until I win, they drop it, or I get a trial by jury to convict me.

I went to a friends party last weekend and the cops came. I got an MIP for the first time in my life. I havent ever gotten in trouble, this was the first time. I had just got my drivers license 2 days before the party. I have a court session scheduled sometime in the next 2 weeks and I'm pretty scared. I'm wondering whats gonna happen. I hope the thing about not possibly just going to classes is true!!
