Question: Is smoking weed (marijuana) legal in some States?

Answer: No. Every State, from Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky to Vermont, including Arizona and every State in between, has enacted various criminal penalties for the possession, use, cultivation, transportation and distribution, of marijuana, including even the smallest of quantities.

Arizona punishes possession of amounts less than two pounds as a class six felony with fines between $750 and $150,000 and jail or prison time from six months to a year and a half.

A few States have decriminalized marijuana use and possession in small amounts (N. Carolina and California for example) but even there, its still illegal.

Well I don't think that people should have the right to smoke it because especially if they are underage. They will do anything if they don't have the money to get it, like steal other people's money. Once they are addicted they can not get off of it. And I think they should go to prison for years to make them understand that weed is a drug like cocaine, and other substances, so what if weed doesn't do much as others its still a illegal drug. So why let your children smoke it, their just losing brain cells, and probably getting into trouble smoking. That's why our country is not all that good

Sabrina I hate to break it to you but kids already go to school high. Legalizing pot won't make it ezier for kids to get weed, it will make it harder. There will be less scum selling it to young kids. I'm personally 19 and believe weed should be legal for 19 and older. That keeps seniors from buying it for kids at school, and is a good age to have it be legal. Weed does not kill brain cells those old out of date studies were done poorly. From what I understand they were giving animals 200 times a normal amoung of THC which of course resulted in the monkey's brain being damaged...

Just like beer it should be sold to a certain age group. The mani reason i think it wont be legal is because once it becomes legal people will go crazy and bad stuff is gonna happen. it would take a long time for it to be come as common as alch

I live in a small community in Missouri. Our town is a large producer of meth.I know people who have been addicted to meth and the results never turn out good.I'm proud to say that i've never done meth but i have smoked weed. Marijuana is not like other drugs. Why isn't it legal? Marijuana has no effect on anyone like alcohol does.If someone disagrees with the use of marijuana and has never tried it I'm asking you to just try it.It's not as bad as you think...
