Question: Can I read my Bible in school to my self in class?

Answer: The work that students do in class is subject to the control of the teacher. However, if a teacher gives no guidelines on what students may select to read during a free reading period, a student may read the Bible or any other religious literature.

If your a non christan you need to get saved its the only way to get in to heaven you ask Jesus to come into your heart. John 3:16 says for God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. Ask jesus into your heart-its always nice to have someone u can always talk to. I will pray for you.

I think it's fine, just dont preach at people. There a lot of people who aren't Christian and you have to respect them too.

The law is clear that it is permissable to carry and read a Bible in school. It is what our founding Father's intended as they fled the tyranny of English rule where they sanctioned one form of Religion over others. "Government shall make NO LAW prohibiting the free exercise of RELIGION." It was never intended that RELIGION would never speak to government but that Government would never interfere in the free exercise of RELIGION. Therefore, if one can carry a BIBLE as a Christian to read for personal edification, then a Muslim can do the same with the Koran, or a Jew with the Torah, etc.

If a teacher or administrator expressly forbids you from reading the Bible during unstructured time, that is a violation of your first Amendment rights, and I would suggest contacting the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Many Christians have been told that the ACLU wants to prevent Bibles from being brought to school; however, I assure you that that is exactly the opposite of the ACLU's mission.
