"I started drinking and smoking marijuana when I was ten years old and now I'm fifteen years old. I'd go into my parents liquor cabinet and have parties and invite my friends over whenever my parents were out-of-town. We would see how much we could drink before we did something silly. My best friend Susan was 18 years old. One night, we decided to drive to the mall and hang out. Susan was the only one with a drivers license. That night Susan seemed kind of out-of-it, and I know I shouldn't have gotten into the car with her, but I didn't want to show that I was scared or chicken to drive with her. I never knew that Susan had been arrested before for drunk driving. She was my best friend but she never told me that. Anyway, that night on the way to the mall, we had the radio blasting and we never heard the oncoming fire engine. I can't remember exactly what happened, but I ended up in the hospital for 3 months with a broken pelvis and punctured lung. My best friend Susan died at the scene. I went through drug rehabilitation and I'm okay today. But I will never forget what happened and I'll never party with drugs or alcohol again and I'll never drive with anyone who drinks and uses DRUGS!"

First, I would like to say that I'm sorry that it took the death of a close friend for this young lady to mature, but I can't say I'm surprised. Second, I would like to address the comment below mine. I agree that marijuana has never caused an overdose. But so what? It's still an illegal drug, and underage drinking is still illegal, even in moderation. If you believe you have the self-control to drink in moderation, why don't you have the patience to wait until you are legally permitted to drink?

The previous poster is correct. Stoned drives cause, per capita, less accidents than sober ones. The only bad thing about marijuana is that it can get you busted, fired, expelled, etc... All of those problems would be resolved were it legal. So please stop acting superior, calling people who smoke pot stupid. You have no idea what you're talking about, so please refrain from commenting. Those of you who are saying that marijuana caused you to fail, or caused your life to go down the drain are irresponsible, and the fact that you blame your own incompetance on a plant only helps my stance. It not worth taking drugs. You have one life and you need to live it. You don't need to ride in the car with someone who is drunk. No matter how COOL you want to look!!!!!
