Robbery is when force or intimidation is used to commit larceny, or theft. The penalty for robbery is up to 15 years in jail. Armed robbery is the more serious offense of committing robbery while armed with a deadly weapon or leading the victim to believe the robber is armed with a deadly weapon. The punishment for armed robbery is 10-30 years imprisonment.
