Hazing

Hazing is intentionally or recklessly engaging in foreseeable dangerous acts for the purpose of initiation or admission into or affiliation with any school club, fraternity or sorority. Hazing is illegal even if the endangered party consents to being hazed.

In other words, hazing is when a person or group of people make someone do something stupid and/or dangerous in order to join a group or club.  It does not matter if the person agrees to the hazing, it is still illegal.  This is usually seen in colleges and universities with students joining fraternities or sororities.  Because people have been seriously injured and even killed because of hazing, colleges and universities no have strict policies on hazing and students who take part in hazing will probably be expelled.

The criminal punishment for hazing is a fine of up to $500 and up to one year in jail.
