Cocaine

Possession of less than 10 grains of cocaine is a misdemeanor offense and carries a punishment of up to 2 years imprisonment and up to $5,000 in fines.  For a second offense, it becomes a felony and is punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and up to $5,000 in fines.  A third offense increases the fines to a maximum of $10,000.  S.C. Code Section 44-53-370(d)(1). 

Possession of more than 10 grains of cocaine is a felony are carries a punishment of up to 15 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines.  A second offense is punishable by 5-30 years in prison and up to $50,000 in fines.  A third offense brings the punishment up to 15 to 30 years in prison and up to $50,000 in fines.  S.C. Code Section 44-53-370(b)(1).
