Until recently, nobody could get a tattoo in the state of South Carolina. But, the state legislature passed a law allowing tattooing. According to the new law, you must be 21 years old to get a tattoo without parental permission. If you are between the ages of 18 and 21, you must have your parent’s permission to get a tattoo. Also, it is illegal for anyone to tattoo on your neck, face, or head.
S.C. Code Section 44-34-100.
