Laws - View Law: POSSESSION AND USE OF MARIJUANA

    Possession and Use of Marijuana

Possession and use of marijuana is either a felony or a misdemeanor. Possession of marijuana that you intend to sell is a felony. Possession and use of marijuana can result in probation, attending classes on the harmful effects of drugs, and performing community service. (ARS 13-3405). You may also lose your driving privileges.

An adjudication on a marijuana charge goes on your record and can follow you throughout your life. For example, a candidate for a U.S. Supreme Court appointment was disqualified after admitting he had used marijuana as a student.

They tried making drinking illegal once. Look at the 18th ammendment. They tried, but it didn't work. The 21st ammendment is the repeal of the 18th ammendment. People thought that making drinking illegal would make less crime, but all the 18th ammendment did was make things worse. People would make alcohol illegaly and so there was more crime instead of less.

I think we try pushing the law day to day, legalizing something that messes up the way you think, feel or act. Legalizing weed would be just like putting a gun to someone's head. It is a proven fact that smoking weed screws with the way you think, so why would this be something GOOD for us? Bottom line, I truly believe there are VERY good reasons for weed not to be legalized. There are people that say they need it for pain, there are plenty of good pain pills out there that can be monitored and prescribed by a doctor for these people to get control of their pain.

you know what? i used to ask myself the question all the time why marijuana is illegal, when it is true that alcohol and cigarrettes are worse..the what i came up with is, yes maybe it is true that marijuana shouldnt be illegal, mainly because if u tell somebody not to do somethin, their gonna do it anyway, and this causes people to overdue it and become reliant on weed, and they mainly do it to escape from the harsh realities of life. BUT at the same time, WAKE UP, stop cryin about how ur life is, and do somethin positive about it, smokin marijuana will only make ur problems go away for atime
