The legal drinking age of 21 is not realistic. I do not agree with the severe punishment of getting an MIP. Although I do agree with consequences of drinking and driving offenses. People should be more responsible. How should we as teens ever be respected and have our views looked at if we are so stupid to drink and then get behind the wheel. I want to change the law a little bit. i think the legal drinking age for beer and wine should be 18 and for hard alcohol show be 21. That is reasonable.

I recently received a ticket for minor in consumption. My mom, older brother and sister had 1 rum and coke at home. I then walked down the street to my boyfriend's house and the cop stopped to talk to me and smelled the alcohol on my breath. My mom came and told the officer that she had given me a drink at my home, yet they gave my boyfriend a ticket for procuring. What is minor in consumption law anyway?
